Tina Sherman (she/her) serves as Interim Executive Director at the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee effective November 15, 2023. As Interim ED, Tina is supporting the USBC mission by focusing on financial sustainability and organizational vitality, while also supporting the Board of Directors and programmatic efforts of the Staff team. With a background in public policy and a heart and training as a doula, Tina has dedicated her professional life to supporting and empowering moms and families. Tina lives in North Carolina with her husband and four boys and can often be caught driving her pink Jeep on the beaches off the Carolina coast.

Cheryl LebedevitchNational Policy Director
|
Cheryl Lebedevitch (she/her) serves as National Policy Director at the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee. Cheryl leads the USBC policy and communications teams and serves as co-steward of the Workplace Support Constellation. She serves as Editor-In-Chief of the weekly e-Newsletter, Staying Abreast: Weekly Wire, and is a contributing author to the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion report, "The Role of Law and Policy in Assisting Families to Reach Healthy People's Maternal, Infant, and Child Health Breastfeeding Goals in the United States." Cheryl joined the USBC in 2009 and has held many titles and responsibilities during her time with the organization. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently working toward a Master of Public Policy degree at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Cheryl lives on Cape Cod in Massachusetts with her husband and children, who can frequently be spotted at USBC events.

Camille AbbeDirector of Strategic Partnerships
|
Camille Abbe (she/her) serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships at the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee, supporting the USBC mission by bringing stakeholders together for collaborative efforts that address the barriers to breastfeeding success. In this role, Camille leads the collective impact and membership teams and is responsible for overseeing and leading efforts for continuous communication and collaboration with partners across “lactasia” and beyond, as well as identifying and developing opportunities to increase the capacity and impact of the lactation field. Additionally, Camille supports organizational sustainability by overseeing the design and implementation of USBC fundraising campaigns. With a background in public relations and event planning, Camille joined the USBC in 2013, having worked in Maternal and Child Health as a birth doula, advocate, and as coordinator for the annual conference for the Midwives Alliance of North America for almost a decade. She lives in Massachusetts, is an enthusiastic ceramics hobbyist, and is also a 500-hour certified yoga instructor.

Michelle HilliardOperations Manager

Michelle Hilliard (she/her) serves as the Operations Manager for the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee. Michelle oversees organizational operations and administrative functions of the executive team and liaises with the Board of Directors, USBC members, partners, volunteers, and contractors. She leads the optimization of organizational workflow, project management, and compliance. Michelle earned a Master of Public Health and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Purdue and has a background in nonprofit management and population health. She lives in Illinois and is the proud owner of a certified therapy dog.

Alina EversonData Management Specialist
|
Alina Everson (she/her) serves as the Data Management Specialist, and joined the team in June 2023. In this role, Alina will be pivotal in supporting the USBC's mission and impact by harnessing the power of data to enable us to make informed decisions, tell compelling stories that drive positive change, and achieve our goals effectively. Alina has a background in supporting data and reporting needs for various community service programs like homelessness prevention, family stability, and prenatal and early childhood development. Alina has followed her passion for turning data into meaningful insights. She enjoys working with her kitty Feliz curled up on her lap. Alina lives in Oregon and is a movie and TV enthusiast who can always recommend something to watch.

Suzan AjlouniPublic Health Writing Specialist

Suzan Ajlouni (she/her) serves as the Public Health Writing Specialist at the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee. In her role, Suzan develops strategic communication and promotion materials for stakeholders, including member organizations and policymakers, and supports the communication of academic and research findings to the public. She also works with constellation work groups to support the communication and dissemination of expert opinion and recommendations for the field. Suzan received a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health from Boston University School of Public Health.

Erin FortunaSenior Collective Impact Coordinator
|
Erin Fortuna (they/them) serves as Senior Collective Impact Coordinator at the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee, closely supporting constellation work groups and cross-sector partnerships within and beyond the First Food field. In this role, Erin supports the USBC application of the Collective Impact model, a complexity-inspired governance framework for multi-organization partnerships to advance equity and achieve population and systems-level change. Additionally, Erin provides implementation support for USBC communication and fundraising campaigns as well as virtual and in-person convenings. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC®), Erin brings a unique perspective and expertise to the USBC from the lactation support provider community and the families they serve. They have a deep-rooted commitment to the equity and inclusion of all families and individuals who exist everywhere across the spectrum of 2SLGBTQIA+ identities. Outside of USBC, you will usually find Erin reading through their ever-growing pile of books, baking challah on Fridays, and embracing the sweet and tender parenting moments with their two children.
